Adobe Photoshop is a raster graphics editor. Photoshop is a photo-editing software. It is a popular image-changing software package. It was developed in 1987 by the American brothers Thomas and John Knoll. There are two types of graphic software – Vector Graphics and Raster Graphics.

Photoshop File Format

PSD files are the native file format of Adobe Photoshop. Here are the different types of files you should know and how to use them:

  • PSD (Photoshop Document)
  • JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) 
  • PNG (Portable Network Graphics)  
  • GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) 
  • PDF (Portable Document Format) 

The main difference between vector and raster graphics is that raster graphics are composed of pixels, while vector graphics are composed of paths.

What is the unit use of point?

In typography, the point is the smallest unit of measure. It is used for measuring font size, leading, and other items on a printed page.

What is the difference between pixels and points?

10x10 image is made up of a set of pixels in a grid 10 wide by 10 high, totaling 100 pixels. A point is a typographic measure, which means it is a physical measure of length, like miles, inches, meters, or an astronomical unit.

 A “pixel” is a two-dimensional, square unit for measuring the area
